Snareweight M100 Drum Dampener (100g)

The Snareweight M100 is a weighted 100 gram chrome and leather drum dampener that tightens snare and tom ring without killing it.

It has a 3.5 oz (100 gram) chrome body, a magnet, felt and leather. Snareweight sees it as sitting between the M1 and the brass #5. It takes the M1's footprint and adds the right amount of weight for a dampened drum that's still full of tone. Because of the weight, and because it sits out and away from the rim, it keeps the ring of the shell and adds some crisp clarity and compression. It also shortens the low-frequency hum, like the #5 does, which tightens the drum up.

It's made to shorten sustain and keep the good ring, so it won't remove all the ring from your snare. It gives about the same amount of dampening as the M1 but sounds different. If you want the most dampening, a fully open M80 does more, with less shell openness.

• Works with triple-flange, die-cast, angel hoops, true hoops and 1/4" wood hoops
• Magnetic on/off: detach it to clip for tuning, or for a song that doesn't need dampening
• Chrome finish matches most hardware and sits out of the way on the rim
• Patent leather, 1.3mm thick. The waterproof outer layer can look a bit like plastic, but it's very strong.
