12th&Vine

Inspired by the great American drums from the 50s, 60s and 70s, the 12th & Vine features a 5 ply shell with a Poplar Core, 7 Ply Maple Reinforcement Rings and our Los Angeles bearing edge. The Poplar core warms up the shell and absorbs unwanted overtones, while providing a sound equally suitable for live and studio use. This line comes standard with stick saver hoops, vintage “fold out” bass drum spurs, and our new single-ended Deco lug.

Maple/Poplar/Maple: It could be argued that a large part of the sounds, grooves and players that inspire today’s top rock drummers come from an era when this ply configuration reigned supreme. Although these shells are based on classic drums from the 1970s, our Maple/Poplar shells are in a class all their own. They have a wide tuning range, warm tone, round attack, and fast decay.

Mahogany/Poplar/Mahogany: A reference to the classic sounds of the 1950s, our Mahogany/Poplar ply configuration is one of the warmest Gladstone Shell Configurations. Depth and character are more pronounced in quieter, softer musical settings while fat, round tones come out when things get a bit louder.

Walnut/Poplar/Walnut: A C&C Original. Walnut may be a new idea for a shell, but it’s more reminiscent of days past than a modern style of drum. This shell is characterized by a smooth, rounded attack with low end to spare.
